In order to complete the program and earn your certification, you need to complete all four modules within 18 months. Each module is made up of a Monday-Friday week-long training plus a weekend intensive which must be taken together. There will also be work to be studied and completed at home in between meeting weeks.
Each module is 75 hours: 7 days. 10 hours per day, including homework or overnight work.
Contact Hours for modules:
Week long intensives (Monday to Friday 10am-5pm)
Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays 10am-5pm)
Each 75-hour module is fully contained and you can start with any one. If it’s not possible to complete all 4 modules in order, you can come back and re-take a module the next time it is offered. The modules will continue to be offered at least once-a-year, if not more.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to pass a module you must complete the Monday-Friday AND the weekend times too. The week-long intensive and weekend for each module must be taken together in the same intake and cannot be split. (i.e. You cannot take the week-long intensive for a module and pick up the weekend the next time the module is run.)
We’re delighted to welcome students to join individual modules as a standalone training without committing to all four as part of the 300-hour teacher training. Participants must have completed a 200-hour teacher training program, or have been a dedicated yoga student for at least 5 years and provide a letter from their main teacher (if not Claire Missingham).
Each module goes beyond the basics and provides a full immersion in practice and study. The modules contain anatomy, asana technique, injury management, and philosophical inquiry. As a practitioner, you’ll explore more challenging postures, commit to seated meditation, and cultivate more refinement in your practice. As a teacher, you will learn to develop sequences that create greater balance in each region, help students manage their injuries, and instruct your students in clear, accessible language. The space between the modules will allow you to return to your daily life and integrate the new information, experience, and inspiration. You will have homework assignments between the modules to help stay inspired and engaged.
You can find a detailed description of the subjects covered by each of the modules by clicking on the links below.
The remainder of the training is through self-led, partner, small group, videos and written work as homework. Please expect there to be a lot of home-self-led work and feedback from your own classes and teaching.
The training will commence again in September 2019 if you wish to take the modules out of sequence.
